Noor E Jannat Oishi is a Research Intern at the Center for Policy and Economic Research (CPER). She holds a Bachelor of Social Science in Economics from Shahjalal University of Science & Technology (SUST), with excellent results. Her academic training has provided her with a strong foundation in economic theory, econometrics, and quantitative analysis, with technical proficiencies in STATA, MATLAB, and Excel.
Oishi's research interests are centered on development economics, environmental sustainability, and social equity. She is particularly focused on the dynamics of small-scale businesses in rural Bangladesh and the transformative role of microfinance in empowering women entrepreneurs.
Beyond her academic work, she has been an active member of the Econ Insider executive team at SUST. Oishi also brings practical entrepreneurial experience as the founder of Palamou, an online clothing brand, through which she has gained hands-on knowledge in operations, marketing, and supply chain management. A dedicated athlete, she has served as captain of her departmental volleyball team, honing leadership, teamwork, and strategic thinking skills.
Oishi is committed to applying her analytical skills and diverse experiences to contribute to policy research that fosters sustainable development and empowers marginalized communities.
